Welcome to the Official Web Site of the LSU Bands!

Thank you for your interest in the LSU Bands. With a long history of success, the Band program at LSU offers many types of opportunities and ensembles for students to continue playing their instruments while in college. Not only does participation in a college ensemble build instant friendships, but one can also pursue an interest of the heart while earning college credit. As you pursue your career goals as a student at LSU, we hope that you will want to experience a truly special musical tradition. We are very proud of our program and we strongly believe in the educational and social values that band offers. You do not have to be a music major to participate in the LSU Bands. 80% of Tiger Band is comprised of non-music majors. Note: Full tuition scholarships are available to non-music majors who live outside of Louisiana (Tiger Band Golden Oaks Scholarship).

LSU TIGER BAND WINS THE ESPN/PARAMOUNT PICTURES "BATTLE OF THE BANDS"!
This past fall, ESPN announced the LSU Tiger Band, The Golden Band from Tigerland, was the winner of their 2008 "Battle of the Bands" contest. LSU was among seven schools in the running for the grand prize. (The other participating schools were the University of Southern California, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Clemson.) Ten bands were originally asked to take part in the event--all of the schools had preseason football rankings in or near the top ten. As winner, the Tiger Band received a grand prize of $25,000, which has goneinto our fund for a new Band Hall. Click here to see the video. On behalf of the students, staff and faculty in the LSU Band Department, we would like to thank all the Tiger fans, students, faculty, staff, friends, family, etc. who contributed to our win.
